  7. I'm going completely left of center here as my favorite is Fessenden's Habit. An alcoholic who's wayward and completely directionless is life meets a beautiful woman that he instantly falls for. Its remarkable to him as most women don't give him the time of day (he is a sloppy drunk afterall). After a few evening encounters, he starts to wonder why it is she only wants to meet him at night. By the film's end, you start to wonder, is he imagining it all or does she really exist?

An interesting take on the vampire movie and one that will keep you riveted throughout.

  13. My favorite vampire movie is Låt den rätte komma in or Let The Right One In

    plot summary from IMDB:
Oskar, a bullied 12-year old, dreams of revenge. He falls in love with Eli, a peculiar girl. She can't stand the sun or food and to come into a room she needs to be invited. Eli gives Oskar the strength to hit back but when he realizes that Eli needs to drink other people's blood to live he's faced with a choice. How much can love forgive? Let The Right One In is a story both violent and highly romantic, set in the Stockholm suburb of Blackeberg in 1982. Written by John Nordling, Producer

  14. Chet McNabb AKA Chet Of The Undead AKA Chet McHappypants to his friends with inflatible boobies. (Email addy is on ze blog under "Questions For Chet" )

Now then... I gotta go with a little delightful piece of...uhh...JOYOUS Vampire schlock called "Vampire Hookers" it's horrible as Hell's creame filled sugar cookies but it's got Vampires and Hookers...put them together with a retro film that's PERFECT for making wisecracks with your friends, add a little love (the dry kind...for once ;) )

    and you've got Vampire Hookers

    So...uhh...do I win yet? LOL :)

  15. I'm going to have to go more mainstream and say Blade II is my favorite vamp flick for the moment.

Guillermo del Toro really broke the mold with this one when he introduced the Reaper vampires. I mean, how can you not love a creature that scares vampires?? Not to mention the fact he brought in Ron Perlman to play opposite of Blade. It just doesn't get much better...

  18. EXTREMELY tough call, but I think I'm going to have to say SHADOW OF THE VAMPIRE. Such an incredibly nifty piece of meta-fiction, and honestly astonishing to me that it could be made in Hollywood, given how "smart" it is.

  25. Favorite vampire movie.... well... if it has to be a film PURELY based on the exploits of vampires, then I'm going with "The Lost Boys." But, if I can choose a film where a vampire is present along with other monsters, then hands down, the winner is "The Monster Squad."

P.S. - "Daybreakers" is actually a pretty good vampire flick!
