6-13: A FRIDAY THE 13th MOVIE TRIVIA BOOK

  FRIDAY THE 13th is probably my favorite horror movie franchise of all time.  I love all the films in the series and I really love reading about the films in various books on this franchise.   Recently I ran across author Gene DeRosa at the Tulsa Comic Con and his trivia books based on the FRIDAY THE 13th films and the HALLOWEEN films! 

  6-13:  A FRIDAY THE 13th MOVIE TRIVIA BOOK is a very comprehensive look at the Jason Voorhees films.   There are some very tough questions here, giving you some wonderful details into the films.  Along with the normal trivia you would find in a book like this, there is also just a lot of great information on the films. DeRosa's book is much more than just a trivia book, it is also a great reference book for the FRIDAY THE 13th films.   Some examples include a great section of the book that lists every actor that has ever played the part of Jason Voorhees and the films they appeared in.  Another is a list of every film in the series and the location the movie takes place in along with all the actual filming locations for each film.   Here are a few more great reference items you will find in this book:

*  A list of the number of kills and type of kills from each film
*  A list of every FRIDAY THE 13th comic book series
*  A list of every survivor from each film
*  A list of every way Jason was killed at the end of each film
*  A kill list of every character killed in the films and how they died


10-31: A HALLOWEEN  MOVIE TRIVIA BOOK

 Halloween is another one of my favorite horror film franchises, and just like the FRIDAY THE 13th trivia book above, DeRosa's HALLOWEEN trivia book is just as in-depth and informative.  10-31 is almost twice a thick as the FRIDAY book and in addition to an abundance of great trivia questions, it too is jammed full of useful info and stats.  Lists in this book include:

*  every actor to portray Michael Myers in each film
*  every comic book series produced about the HALLOWEEN films or Michael Myers.
*  pictures of each mask used in each HALLOWEEN film
*  release dates and box office numbers for each film

  As you can see these are more than just trivia books.  These are must have in-depth reference books for fans of these films.  I can't imagine the research that had to go into each of these amazing books.  I highly recommend picking up a copy of each from the Samson Publishing website.  Right now, you can get both books for just $20!

Happy Friday the 13th!!

  I hope everyone is having a great Friday the 13th!!    I honor of this great day, I wanted to share with you some videos I've seen lately of some great Jason Voorhees pranks!  These are hilarious, but I would think would be pretty dangerous to pull off these days with so many people carrying guns around!  Seems like a good way to get yourself shot, but thankfully, no one in these videos was hurt. So enjoy!

Has anyone found an 8 bit Jason Voorhees figure at their local Toys 'R Us store yet?

 If you hadn't heard yet, NECA toys has released a Toys 'R Us exclusive Jason Voorhees figure.   The figure is a 8-bit Mego style Jason figure, very similar to the one released at San Diego Comic Con in 2013.  The figure is based on the look of Jason from the original Nintendo Friday The 13th game as seen in this screen shot below:
 

 











 This is one collectible I wanted so bad, but couldn't get my hands on.  Now that they are releasing it to the Toys 'R Us stores, I might have a chance.  Unfortunately, they are starting to show up in Toys 'R Us stores all over the country, yet I have been to my local store twice in the last week and they have not got them yet.

Happy Friday the 13th!!

  I hope you all are having a great Friday the 13th!  If you're reading this, you have survived it so far!  I hope you all have a great night, hopefully filled with a FRIDAY THE 13TH MOVIE marathon!!

  I've seen a lot of sites ask about picking your favorite F13TH film, but I'm curious as to what your LEAST favorite of the F13TH film series is!  Mine would probably be JASON GOES TO HELL, followed closely by part VIII: JASON TAKES MANHATTAN.   I haven't seen either of these in years, but I remember not caring for them much at the time.  Maybe I need to revisit them and see if I can garner some appreciate for them now.

  So which of the F13TH films do you dislike the most?   Leave a comment and discuss!

Sorry for no post last night....Blogger was down.  But it is back up and running today!  Friday the 13th is lucky after all!!  Well, it would be blasphemy not to do a post about FRIDAY THE 13th on Friday the 13th, so with that in mind, I bring you this awesome video!  Jason Voorhees visited the set of The Arsenio Hall show back in the late 80's to promote his latest movie, FRIDAY THE 13th PART VIII: JASON TAKES MANHATTAN.  Check it out!!
