The BLAIR WITCH 3 trailer is here!!

  As you may have heard by now, director Adam Wingard's new horror film, which has had the title "THE WOODS", is actually the  next instalment in the BLAIR WITCH PROJECT films!   The fake title was used to keep it a secret for as long as possible, but it has now been revealed that this is BLAIR WITCH 3.   The film is titled just BLAIR WITCH, and is supposed to be a direct sequel to the original BLAIR WITCH PROJECT.   This is what 2000's BOOK OF SHADOWS:  BLAIR WITCH 2 should have been, but as you recall the filmmakers took that "sequel" in a completely different direction.  I am glad we have a true sequel to the first film now. 

Here is the basic plot synopsis from I found from an article about the film on the Dread Central website:

A group of college students venture into the Black Hills Forest in Maryland to uncover the mysteries surrounding the disappearance of James’ sister who many believe is connected to the legend of the Blair Witch. At first the group is hopeful, especially when a pair of locals offer to act as guides through the dark and winding woods, but as the endless night wears on, the group is visited by a menacing presence. Slowly, they begin to realize the legend is all too real and more sinister than they could have imagined.

Check out the teaser trailer for the upcoming film, JUNE

  If you don't already "Like" the Fangoria Feed Facebook page, you should go do so right now!  They are constantly posting great horror news and info.  Yesterday they posted about an upcoming film called JUNE.   Here is the basic plot of the film from the Raven Banner Entertainment website  (the film's production company):

  June is the story about a nine-year-old orphan who has become the vessel of a supernatural being called Aer. June struggles holding Aer back from lashing out when other kids tease and bully her. Aer leaves a trail of damaged and destroyed foster homes in her wake. June quickly bonds with her new adoptive parents Lily and Dave. But she must discover her true identity to overcome this inner demon in order to save herself, her new family, and to find love and acceptance in a chaotic world.

  JUNE is currently in production.  I think by the looks of this trailer we are in for a real treat with this film!  Check out the trailer and let me know what you think!

Check out the trailer for the upcoming film, OCULUS

 I just watched the trailer for the upcoming film OCULUS and it looks pretty creepy!  It is from the producer of "Paranormal Activity" and "Insidious" and was written and directed by Mike Flanagan.  Here is the basic plot synopsis from the film's imdb page:

A woman tries to exonerate her brother, who was convicted of murder, by proving that the crime was committed by a supernatural phenomenon.

OCULUS has a release date for April 11th.  I think this movie looks pretty cool!  Check out the trailer and let me know what you think!

Check out the trailer for the upcoming film, ALL CHEERLEADERS DIE!

 
 Most all guys like cheerleaders.  And most anyone reading this blog loves horror.  So, this cheerleader/horror film should be one of the greatest films ever!   Ha!  ALL CHEERLEADERS DIE is a crazy supernatural horror flick from writers/directors Lucky McKee and Chris Sivertson.  Here is the basic plot from the production company's (Moderncine) website:

  Cheerleaders follows a rebellious outsider (Stasey) who joins the cheerleading squad, much to the dismay of her ex-girlfriend (Smit-McPhee), who happens to be into witchcraft. After a confrontation with the stars of the football team goes bad, the outsider and her new cheerleader friends are supernaturally thrust onto a bloody path of destruction.

  ALL CHEERLEADERS DIE was recently picked up by Image Entertainment.  There is now news yet on a DVD/Blu-ray release date, but when there is I will let you know!  Watch the trailer below and let me know what you think. I think this looks like it could be a really fun flick!

Blu-ray Review: SINISTER (2012)

I remember seeing the previews for SINISTER when it was released to theaters last year, and thinking it looked really good.  Somehow though, I never got around to seeing it in the theater.  Now, after watching this film on the newly released Blu-ray, I am kicking myself for not experiencing it on the big screen.  This is one creepy film, and was honestly even better than I expected it to be!  For those unfamiliar with the film, here is the basic plot from the film's official website:

SINISTER is a frightening new thriller from the producer of the PARANORMAL ACTIVITY films and the writer-director of THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE. Ethan Hawke plays a true crime novelist (Ellison Oswalt) who discovers a box of mysterious, disturbing home movies that plunge his family into a nightmarish experience of supernatural horror.

I can't say enough about how good this movie is.  The acting is superb from all involved and the film is paced very well.  There are no dull or boring moments like you find in some films.  The film is entertaining the entire running time.  The scariest moments are when Ellison turns on one of the home videos that he has found.  Each consists of a family being filmed in everyday activities, followed by video of the families being slaughtered in a variety of graphic ways.   Some of these are actually very hard to watch, and in one crazy scene, I actually jumped and had to pause the film for a second to get settled before going on.  I felt like I had been punched in the stomach after seeing that scene.  I won't say what it involves, but you will probably know it when you see it.

This is must have for any horror fan.  I highly recommend this one.  I don't remember enjoying a horror movie this much in a long time.  The Blu-ray and DVD are available now.  Special Features include the following:
