Welcome to Hayes Hudson's House of Horror (4H)

Your online source for Horror news, info, and reviews. I cover new and classic Horror, as well as Exploitation and Cult films. I also discuss books, comics, games, toys, clothing, etc, as long as it pertains to the Horror genre. My movie reviews are short and to the point, as I know when I come across a long review, I tend to skip that one. I hope you enjoy your time at my House of Horror! Come on in!

ATTACK OF THE MOVIE REMAKES!!!

While browsing the great Shattered Ravings blog, I found a post where blog author Scott Baker has put together a nice list of all the movies either already being re-made or in consideration for a remake. I went through and picked out the Horror themed ones. What do you think of these films being re-made? Any Horror films you think that should be re-made that haven't yet?

While some people are totally against remakes of classic or "perfect" horror movies, I actually like remakes. It brings the films to a new generation of fans and could actually get them interested in seeing the original films. And it is not like when a remake is made, the original is gotten rid of. We will always have the originals, so I say bring on the remakes. We love these stories and characters, so anytime I can see more of them, then so be it!!

What do you think about the remake craze in Hollywood right now??

  1. I have a big problem with Hollywood's remake kick of recent years. Aside from a very few exceptions (The Last House On The Left, Friday the 13th, The Hills Have Eyes) I think that most remakes are pointless. Some more than others, of course. I'd honestly love to punch Rob Zombie in the throat for what he did to Halloween. That's a goofy list, too. Rocky Horror??? What? Why remake Rocky Horror?? And Lady Vengeance? That's just blasphemy if Hollywood gets their evil mitts on that. Oh well, I guess it's going to happen regardless so me complaining won't do too much good! Keep up the great work, Hayes!

  2. Thanks Murphy! I think you are right, not much we can do about it...but as long as we still have the originals, they can make all the crappy remakes they want. We know which versions we will be watching though!

  4. I'm usually disappointed with movie remakes, but I still want to get my hands on every single one of them :-) I suppose it's curiosity. If I like the original, I'm really curious to see what they'll do with the remake.
Looking forward to many movies from this list, to name a few: The Brood, Fright Night, Who Can Kill A Child, The Howling, Pet Sematary, The Birds, etc.
