Check out the trailer for AND SOON THE DARKNESS

While browsing one of my favorite websites today (Firstshowing.net), I ran across an article about a film called, AND SOON THE DARKNESS. Apparently this is a remake of a 1970 film by the same name. This is the kind of remake I like, as it brings new life and a completely new audience to a film. I don't know about you, but I had never heard of the original before reading about this new film. Here is the basic plot from imdb:

When two American girls on a bike trip in a remote part of Argentina split up and one of them goes missing, the other must find her before her worst fears are realized.

This looks like it could be really good, very suspenseful, and even takes on an I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE vibe towards the end when the girl goes after her friend herself and looks to take on the captors hand to hand. I hope this film will be as good as the trailer makes it look. AND SOON THE DARKNESS will be in limited theaters this December 17th.

  1. I highly recommend the original, a film I only recently discovered (thanks to Andre over at The Horror Digest) and found genuinely unnerving. It's extremely slow and atmospheric, which makes me extremely curious to see how it will be handled in 2010.
