Here is the basic plot from imdb.com:
A sleepover party during spring-break turns deadly for six beautiful sorority co-eds. Stanley Peterson, convicted serial killer, has escaped from maximum security prison. It's up to the college cuties to unravel the mystery of their assailant before the night is over.
Let me start off by saying that this was a very enjoyable film. It was a lot of fun and the film had a good mixture of humor and Horror. The acting was very good for this type of film and viewers will get to see genre vets Linnea Quigley and Reggie Bannister in the roles of the Sheriff and Deputy.
The movie moves along nicely and there are virtually no slow parts in this film. I was thoroughly entertained the entire running time! While the film doesn't show a lot of gore, it does have it's fair share, and some of the make up effects that are shown are very well done. What this film does differently than most typical slasher films, is bring more mystery into the story. I truly did not realize who the killer was until it was revealed...something that is usually pretty obvious in most films with a "who's the killer" type plot.
This is a great film that will remind you of such classic films as SLUMBER PARTY MASSACRE and the SORORITY HOUSE MASSACRE films. The film will give you a very nostalgic feeling and take you back to the days when Horror films were simple and just plain fun.

I've had my eye on this for awhile. Even if your review was a poor one I'm still compelled to watch it on the basis that Reggie Bannister is in it. I just can't help myself with that guy.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review, man! Glad you had fun :-) I tried to hark back to the days of renting VHS at the mom and pops.
ReplyDeleteHang in there for a big announcement. We're completely green-lit, funded and in pre-production on a pretty-major project that will (hopefully) bring the slumber party slasher-style film back into the mainstream. I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised.
That's the name of the that one.I remember one time in the cheapie aisle at the videostore where they were renting videos for like 50 cents, I picked this one up and watched it and was the typical formula, but years later, I tried to remember the name of it. Apparently, something about it stuck in my head.
ReplyDeleteThanks Michael! I can't wait for the big announcement!
ReplyDeleteAutumnforest..this film was just made a couple of years ago. You are probably thinking of the 'Slumber Party Massacre' or 'Sorority House Massacre' films that came out back in the 80's. This films cover art is a throwback "tribute" to those films.
