Welcome to Hayes Hudson's House of Horror (4H)

Your online source for Horror news, info, and reviews. I cover new and classic Horror, as well as Exploitation and Cult films. I also discuss books, comics, games, toys, clothing, etc, as long as it pertains to the Horror genre. My movie reviews are short and to the point, as I know when I come across a long review, I tend to skip that one. I hope you enjoy your time at my House of Horror! Come on in!

  1. Gotta be a tie between Seven Samurai and Black Samurai.

Why because the former is pretty much the BIBLE of kickass awesome sanurai flicks and is probably one of the top 5 most style influential films of the last 50 years. (Seriously George Lucas ganks camera shot ideas from this film all the time!)

And Black Samurai...for the EXACT opposite reason...because it is so utterly HORRIBLE! Jim "Afroman" Kelly is nothing like a Samurai, yet its so cheesy its a joy to watch and make cracks at with your buddies. Good stuff!

  2. I'd have to say my favorite is The Hidden Fortress by Akira Kurosawa. So many legendary modern-day filmmakers owe a debt of gratitude to Kurosawa for his ground-breaking film-style and transitions; the man was a genius at directing. I've seen several of his films and like most of them...but The Hidden Fortress was the first one I saw, and it's always been my favorite.

  3. Hands down has to be "Riki-Oh: The Story of Riki" If any members of 4H have not seen this flick you must check it out! Amazing over the top violence and gore! Kung Fu with blood and guts...a must see!

  4. Samurai Reincarnation, without a doubt. Sonny Chiba as Jubei Yagyu made a fan out of me. Such a great movie with some truly memorable fight scenes. I think it may have even been the inspiration for a video game I used to play as a kid called Samurai Showdown.
