Blu-ray Review & Giveaway: THE TANK (2023)

Written & Directed by:  Scott Walker
Distributed by:   Well Go USA Entertainment

It's been a while since I have done a movie review, so to reward you patience, not only am I giving you a review of this new film, I'm giving you a chance to win your own brand new copy!

THE TANK is the latest film from Writer/Director Scott Walker.   It's a fun creature feature type film that I feel we don't see enough of these days.   Here is the synopsis from the film's Press Release:

After unexpectedly inheriting a mysteriously abandoned coastal property, Ben packs up his family and travels to explore the place, bewildered about why his mother had never mentioned its existence. However, her reason for secrecy soon becomes clear when the family accidentally frees the ancient, long-dormant creature that had terrorized the entire region for generations—including Ben’s own parents.

It's been a while since I have seen a good new creature feature.   I was excited going into this film and it did not disappoint.  The film is set mainly in the house and the tank, of course, and has a relatively small cast.   While there are a few slow parts throughout the film, over all it is paced well and sets a pretty creepy tone.   The scenes inside the Tank and connected tunnels really help set the eerie mood with it's sense of claustrophobia.    I would have liked to have seen a bit more blood/gore in this type of film, but that's just me.  I honestly probably say that about every film I see!  I have to mention that the effects seem to be all practical, which is rare nowadays, but it really makes a difference.   The creatures look much more real than they would have had the filmmakers gone with CG.

If you are a fan of creature features, I highly recommend you checking out THE TANK.  You can purchase a copy from the links below.   Or, if you are feeling lucky, try your hand at winning your very own Blu-ray copy from Hayes Hudson's House of Horror and the good people at Well Go USA!!

Did you know you can have a mystery horror box of Blu-Rays sent your home every month?

This might not be news to some of you, but if you don't know about this service, listen up!   Horror Pack is a monthly subscription service that sends a random assortment of 4 horror movies to your home every month!!   The folks at Horror Pack sent me one a few months back, and it was fun getting such a cool variety of films!   One thing I was wondering was if I was going to get all movies I already owned.  Well, even with the thousands of DVDs and BDs I own, only 1 of the four was one I had already.    It looks like each box is a good mixture of sub-genres, and every box comes with a Horror Pack exclusive limited edition Blu-ray!    I had never even heard of 2 of the films I was sent, which is a great way to discover films you might never discover otherwise!

Here were the Blu-rays in my box:

There are 4 different monthly plans you can choose from.  You can pick from a 1, 3, 6 or 12 month reoccurring subscription, with the cost of the subscription going down for the longer you sign up for.

This is a great deal that comes out to less than $8 per Blu-ray,  and like I mentioned, one of the Blu-rays each month is a limited edition Horror Pack Exclusive!

Keep physical media alive and join Horror Pack today!!
