Horror Icon DAVID HESS has passed away...

 

Legendary horror actor David Hess died today of a heart attack, he was 69 years old.  Hess is most fondly remembered for his role of Krug from Wes Craven's LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT, but he appeared in many other horror films including HOUSE OF THE EDGE OF THE PARK, SWAMP THING, ZODIAC KILLER, and most recently, the 2009 film SMASH CUT.

While reading the article about Mr. Hess in the International Business Times, I learned a lot of things about him I never knew, mainly that he was a very successful music composer and even wrote some hit songs for Elvis Presley and Pat Boone back in the 50's and 60's.

I am sad that I will never get to meet Mr. Hess.  He was one of the actors on my "wish list" of people I want to meet on the horror convention circuit.   He will be missed for sure.
